The Firefighters’ and Paramedics of Arlington Professional Firefighters - Local 2393 not only protect the citizens and visitors to our community in times of emergency; they are active within our community.

The Firefighters of Hope Program, which was founded by FF William E. Tompkins (Retired), "adopts" a family in need during the holidays providing them with food, clothing and toys for the children. They also donate food to local charitable programs throughout the year.

"This program is an extension of what we do. To take care of those in need, and give them the hope that things will be better. This is why we came up with the name." Tompkins said.

The program is now administered by Tompkins' son, FF William C. Tompkins, who is also a member of the Association.

The Association and its members are also involved with the NYS Adopt-a-Highway Program, the Arlington Child Passenger Safety Program, the Cancer Relay for Life, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Toys for Tots, and support local sports teams.
