Early Morning Christmas Fire Destroys Apartment - Group 2

At 1:50am Christmas morning, AFD was dispatched for a structure fire in the Mountain Brook Apts off of Innis Ave. Arrival of the shift captain on the scene brought a call to the county dispatchers of an apartment on the second floor on fire. A second alarm was transmitted, bringing additional firefighters from AFD, the City of Poughkeepsie and Pleasant Valley. LaGrange was also called for standby duty in AFD HQ. No one was hurt and the fire was contained to the apartment of origin. Immediate response and a quick knockdown by the first arriving crews is what ultimately saved this building from total destruction.
