Around 5:30PM today, Arlington Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a grill on fire next to a house. On arrival they discovered the fire had extended to the house and transmitted a 2nd alarm. Despite the extension to the attic of the... structure, firefighters were able to quickly place the fire under control in about twenty minutes. It's important to note that the first due engine at this fire would have been out of service if not for the expanded south end staffing. Assistance at the scene provided by New Hamburg Fire District, Central Hudson and Town of Poughkeepsie Police and station coverage by Lagrange and New Hackensack Fire Districts. Great job Group 1.
